Skid Avoidance Training | Winnipeg, Manitoba
Crossroads Driver Training has a skid platform which allows the training of private and commercial customers in skid avoidance. All training is conducted on an abandoned St. Andrews Runway. Maximum vehicle speed is about 30 kph on dry pavement.
This type of training was only available to law enforcement until now. There are only about 6 skid cars Canada, 4 being owned by Police Departments.

Commercial Participants
- We allow commercial participants to drive their company vehicles through the course manoeuvres to assess handling capabilities.
- We can also do a 45 minute to 1 hr driving assessment on-the-road to commercial participants.
- All participants receive a Certificate of Instruction in Skid Avoidance Techniques.

St. Andrews Runway
The St. Andrews Runway is currently being used for vehicle testing and motosports. The 2 available runways are described as follows:
- Main Runway: 2800' long by 75' wide (made up of HMAC Hot Mix Asphalt)
- Secondary Runway: 800' long by 30' wide (with an area coated with Jenite)
